Background:
Human trafficking is a serious violation of human rights that affects millions of people worldwide. It takes many forms, including forced labor, sexual exploitation, and organ trafficking. Despite global efforts to combat human trafficking, it continues to proliferate due to complex factors such as poverty, conflict, corruption, and weak legal frameworks.Today, an estimated 50 million people are victims of human trafficking, and the illicit trafficking industry generates over $236 billion annually, a stark indicator of both the severity and scale of this criminal activity.

To address this challenge, the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons and UNITAR, renowned for its high-quality training programs for United Nations stakeholders, have partnered to organize this online executive course. The collaboration aims to strengthen the capacity of governments, law enforcement agencies, and civil society organizations to prevent and combat human trafficking through targeted training, awareness-raising, and the exchange of best practices. This course will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of human trafficking, the tools to identify and support victims, and strategies to prevent and disrupt trafficking practices and networks at national and international levels
